It is important to consider who is generating these resources of knowledge, who’s interests are being served, who’s voices are left out, and the relationship between knowledge and power. Think of the dark history of Anthropologists who were out measuring people’s skulls to build knowledge about a hierarchy of races, or “scientific” bodies of knowledge that served as a justification for enslaving African Americans. Think of the academic support for removing peoples from their land.
